Tarsiers are haplorhine primates of the family Tarsiidae, which is itself the lone extant family within the infraorder Tarsiiformes. Although the group was once more widespread, all the species living today are found in the islands of Southeast Asia.

Philippine tarsier

phylum Chordata The Philippine tarsier (Carlito syrichta) is endemic to the Philippines, found in the southeastern part of the archipelago. Size is about the same as a human fist. The head can rotate 180 degrees, compensating for large eyes that are fixed in the skull.

Spectral tarsier

It is apparently less specialized than the Philippine tarsier or Horsfield's tarsier; for example, it lacks adhesive toes. It is the type species for the genus Tarsius.
